West Somerset can be accessed easily from London, the south and the Midlands with excellent motorway links, making the area an ideal choice to escape and relax for a much deserved B&B break.
Bristol and Exeter airport serve the area, and regular bus connections to Minehead are available from Taunton railway station.
Farlands House, bed and breakfast is open all year and is family run, non smoking and has recently been refurbished and furnished to a high standard and offers three very comfortable double bedrooms, two with ensuite facilities and the third with private facilities. |

Crisp linen, soft towels and complimentary guest toiletries are provided to make your bed and breakfast stay comfortable. Each room is equipped with central heating, beverage tray with a selection of fine teas and coffee, Television with Freeview, DVD/CD player, alarm clock radio and hairdryer. Ironing facilities are available upon request.
Breakfast is served in our light and sunny breakfast room overlooking the front garden; we offer a full English breakfast and source our products locally. Minehead has a good choice of public houses, restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes and are all within a short walk from Farlands House. |
Minehead is known as the Gateway to Exmoor, the town sits beneath the dramatic landscape of Exmoor National Park and is sheltered by North Hill.
The town gets in name from the sheltering North Hill, the earliest records name the town as Mynheafdon (1046), Maneheve (1086), Menehewed (1225) and Menedun, these all contain elements of both Welsh and Old English words for hill or mountain (Welsh myndd), Old English Myned). |

In and around Minehead you will find many places of interest and facilities including a theatre, cinema, leisure pool, golf course, crazy golf, shops, supermarkets, Butlins entertainment resort and the West Somerset Railway, the longest remaining steam railway in the country. Minehead harbour is only a short walk away where sea cruises and fishing trips can be booked.
Close by is Dunster a stunning medieval village, Selworthy, Porlock, Porlock Weir, Watchet which is an ancient harbour town and Blue Anchor Bay which are all well worth a visit. |
The dramatic Exmoor coastline is 34 miles long and you can walk the South West Coastal path, which starts at Minehead taking in the views of this stunning coastline, if you want to walk the complete path it will take you around 40 days to arrive at Poole. As you travel and explore the area you will find tiny villages of thatched cottages, and breathtaking landscapes. If you travel further around the coast you will come to Lynton and Lynmouth, linked by a cliff railway. |

If you enjoy walking and exploring, Exmoor National Park is magnificent, with a dramatic coastline, the highest coastline on the British Mainland reaching 314 metres at Culbone Hill. The scenery offers rocky headlands, stunning wooded valleys and wild and rugged moors with the highest point reaching 519m at Dunkery Beacon. The Park has red deer, Exmoor ponies, badgers and many varieties of bird life. |

- All prices are per person per night and include full English breakfast
- We operate a minimum 2 night stay at bank holidays, certain weekends and some other dates (please check with us)
- Single occupancy of twin/double from £40
- Walkers and cyclists are most welcome and we have secure storage available for cycles

- Provisional telephone/email bookings will be held for seven days
- A non refundable deposit of £10 per person per night is required within seven days of booking, we accept Debit/Credit* cards for deposits, please call 01643 702975 and have your card details ready
- Final balance with be due on departure
- If a booking is cancelled more than 7 days before the date of your arrival a full refund will be given
- If a booking is cancelled within 7 days before the date of your arrival and we are unable to re-sell the room/s you will be charged the full amount of the booking
